![]() So do any of youse ever do "home mastering" in Audacity? And what plugins do you like to stuff in there? I always seem to like some multi band compression, and some leveling with peak limiting, but I also really like some of the "separation and panning" effects that do things to the stereo image that I can never do with simple pan knobs alone. What a pleasant surprise, especially since Audacity is free. Now granted Ozone is not my all time favorite and I was trying to wean myself away from that as well, but those presets are so handy, and so easy for the basic home basement demo tunes I am churning out. I've never been good buddies with anything Steinberg, but I did get along for years doing my version of home mastering in Wavelab with a few choice budget plugins. However, the full Wavelab price is 500 which is beyond my means. But I dont like how Audacity opens a zillion windows, and Peak feels like a more polished product. I am considering Wavelab to have a good point to finalize my audio project, and have a all in one solution for mastering. The last piece of home basement music magic software I could not get authorized was my old edition of Wavelab. Hi,i’m an owner of Cubase 8.5 ad other Steinberg’s stuff. I just upgraded to Windows 10 and got it 98% optimized for DAW, with Reaper and Focusrite 18i20, etc. I guess I'm a little behind on my updates.
